1. Sunny skies and clear roads while on a road trip. We had a HARROWING few hours over the mountain pass coming out of Denver yesterday. Our nerves were shot! Thankfully the kids didn't really notice how death-defying the drive was. You never realize how nice it is to have really nice weather until we get stuck in the horrible weather, traffic, snow packed roads.
2. My OWN bed. We had a great time at my sister's house for Thanksgiving but she only has full size beds. That doesn't really work out with my husband who has to have the "pillow kingdom" which consists of a pillow on each side and one between his legs--plus an extra one for just in case. I slept with my sister most of the time we were there.
3. Portable DVD players. The kids got pretty restless yesterday on our 12 HOUR drive that was supposed to be only 8 hours. Overall they did relatively well though and I can thank our wonderful portable DVD player that aunt Michelle gave us for Christmas probably 6 years ago. It's has been a god-send! The only time there was a melt down was when Cooper REALLY needed a nap and went from crying to asleep in 6 seconds flat! He sat there with his head tilted back, mouth open, snoring for almost an hour. He was much more fun when we woke up!
