Matt needed nap after that and the kids and I needed something to do for the afternoon so we decided to utilize our zoo membership. We made it just in time to see the bird show. If you haven’t seen the bird show, you are really missing out. It’s amazing. The hawks, eagles, owls, and others swoop down almost touching our heads in the audience more than once. Adriene especially loves it. You can link videos of the kids on their blogs from the Mac website. We made the quick rounds, saw 2 shows, played on the playground and got back just in time to go to the baseball game that night. It was one of the last home games this year and Matt was excited to take the kids.
The weather was nice for the Bees game (especially when the sun went down and was no longer in our eyes. We sat on the grass at the outside of the field on the 3rd base side. Once we got settled, Matt & I separated to get food for us and the kids. Of course while Matt was gone, a home run ball came right in front of us. My immediate reaction was to duck and protect my beer from getting spilled... which I did. The guy in front of us dived with his 4 month old in his arms and got the ball. Matt came back and predicted that I just ducked and didn't get the ball. He was sure bummed! After the show there were fireworks. They were set up right behind us so we had to move for safety. We got to sit on the field. The kids loved it! The grass is amazing. A good way to top off a crazy family day.
